« Tell us about your sea! »

Léon and Nina are two passionate young explorers. He is a sailor, she a journalist. Together, they decided to sail towards Western Africa in order to meet people who care about the sea and act on its protection and preservation. We are delighted to present their project.

The sailing route:
From October 2011 to October 2012, departing in France they sailed along the coasts of Spain, Morocco, Senegal (Dakar, Sine Saloum and Casamance), Guinea Bissau (archipelago of Bijagos) and, finally, Cape Verde (Boa Vista).

The objectives of the trip:
From the fishing villages in the turtle delta of Senegal to the coastal people of the Bijagos archipelago, they got in touch with what associations and activists do for the protection of the marine environment. Their sailing boat was not only an ecologic means of transport, but also a multimedia platform, which carried documentaries about the environment as well as camera and video editing equipment in order to shoot a series about what they came across.
Actions, exchanges, awareness raising activities...simply a good project out of love for the sea!
